Prof. Dr. Raji is a lawyer and teaches data protection and data law at the University of Applied Sciences Wedel. He completed his doctorate with a thesis on “AI in the public sector” and is the editor of a commentary on the Data Act and the Data Governance Act.

He works full-time as an in-house lawyer for a leading life sciences company, which he advises nationally and globally on data protection issues. Previously, he worked for the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (HmbBfDI) as head of department (trade and infrastructure) and advisor for health and social affairs, where he supervised and advised public and non-public bodies.

His focus areas include the secondary use of data for research purposes in the healthcare sector and legal issues in connection with artificial intelligence.

Prof. Dr. Raji regularly gives lectures on data protection issues and publishes in specialist journals.
